What you see above is something that I did in a brief afternoon after seeing these in catalogs I figured I could do this myself. If you like to be creative well this is the project for you.
The sign itself was an old flat paneled window shutter. But you can use a flat long smooth piece of wood if you like.
I painted it with a gray interior /exterior washable house paint. Which you can buy from Walmart or any hardware store that sells it. But you can use whatever color you like.
The letters and leaf scroll were put on with a stencil and black acrylic paint, which I also purchased at Walmart. But you can buy this anywhere where they sell art supplies. Than I covered the whole thing in a couple of coats of Modge Podge.
To make my images stand out I painted a stronger darker outline on the outside edges to give it a more 3D ish effect. But you can trace around them with a black sharpie if you're not confident of your painting skills.
I used a sponge brush to make sure it spread smoothly.Next I moved on to the squares with the seasonal designs. These can be any image you want. I chose ones that fit best for that season and just like the above sign I painted the blocks using a sponge brush and acrylic paints on the appropriate size craft squares, which in my case were 4x4 size. And some stickable velcro which you will be using one on your sign for them to stick to. and each square so you can attach it to the board.
I put mine up on a stand but if yours is longer you can place it o your porch or you can hang it by placing picture wire or picture hook to the backside.
Be creative and have fun with it. Make this a project you can do with your kids or your grandkids.
Then enjoy It!!
God Bless 🙏😊
